Introduction

Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt), in close cooperation with the German State Criminal Police Offices, has developed the "SECURIUS" database for seized items of art and valuables.

The database publishes objects seized by police or customs authorities, which are suspected of originating from criminal offences.

Anybody can search the database for stolen property.

If you recognise objects or items in the database which are, for example, missing due to theft, you may directly contact the unit given in the database as dealing with the matter and claim ownership.

Please note that you will need to present proof of ownership (such as insurance documentation, pictures or similar material) identifying you as the legitimate owner

The "SECURIUS" database offers you the option to search for item categories or to use the full text search. Due to the high number of stored items, you may also achieve better search results if you specify the search period.
